Hi,
I have B1/B2 visa and am allowed to be in the States till October, 2003. Are there any ways how to stay in America? Which one is the most efficient one?

The easiest way to remain for a temporary period is to apply for an extension. This should be done as soon as possible because your I-94 expires in October. You should give a believable reason and explain how you have enough money to remain for the extra period. You should send a copy of a return plane ticket. If you are from Russia be aware that if you return before October you will probably be able to get another visa to the US. But if you return after October (even if your application for an extnesion was granted) you will probably be denied another visa. So consider everything carefully.

If you want to try to stay a much longer period of time now, if you are a professional with a university degree and can find a company to petiton for you in that particular field, you may be able to get an H-1B visa.

The final way is throug marriage to an American citizen.
