Hello, Mr. Samson.
I just became a US citizen and would like to sponsor my mother for permanent residency. My income for year 2002 will satisfy the poverty guidelines but my income for two previous years will not.
What are the chances the application will be approved?
Required income from 2001 poverty guidelines -- 15000
Sponsor's income for tax year 2002 -- 21000
2001 -- 11000
2000 -- 8000
I can also show that for the last year the balance of my bank account never went below 8500 and was 9500 on average.
Should I include that as additional assets on the affidavit?
My chances for a co-sponsor are very low. In your professional opinion what course of action should I take to get this application approved? Thank you so much for your time.
