Free Screenings, Lectures, Exercise Demonstrations and Information on How to Stay Healthy Provided at the 2nd Annual Senior Health Fair on Wednesday, October 16th

WEST HOLLYWOOD –The City of West Hollywood and the Senior Advisory Board will host the 2nd Annual Healthy Seniors Fair on Wednesday, October 16, 2002 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the West Hollywood Community Center at Plummer Park, 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard. Lectures, free screenings, exercise demonstrations and information booths are a part of the day’s activities. The Healthy Seniors Fair is sponsored by the City of West Hollywood, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, City of Hope, Jewish Family Services of Los Angeles, L.A. Free Clinic and the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center.
Presentations on Senior health issues will include macular degeneration, breast cancer, exercise, medication issues, depression and anxiety, injury and prevention, nutrition and men’s and women’s health. Russian translation will be provided.
Exercise demonstrations in Tai Chi, yoga, folk and belly dancing will be offered to promote healthy exercise. Free health screenings for blood pressure, dental, sight, hearing and podiatry will also be provided. Raffles will be held throughout the day.
