My daughter is a green card holder so is there a way that I can apply for the permanent residence without leaving the country?
sincerely,

When your daughter become a US citizen she can apply for a green card for you. It will take a little less than one year after she applies for you for you to get it. If you have been in the US for longer than 180 days illegally you should probably not leave because you wi,ll face a 3 year or 10 year penalty to return. So it is better to remain here. My mother-in-law lives in Russia and my wife has a Green Card. I am a US Citizen. Questions:
- Can I apply for a Green Card for my Mother-In-Law or only my wife when she becomes a US Citizen?
- Will it also take 1 year for her to get it or longer?

Thanks

Dear Alan,
Thanx for taking time to answer. But what if I am legally present in USA? Can my daughter apply on my behalf?
Sincerely,
Sergei
