View Full Version : Why we have 2 rallies in San francisco

I am very skeptical that it was a good idea to have two rallies, as most people will not be able to attend both. This will neccessarily take away some of the Russian-speakers from the bigger Jewish Community Rally and thereby reduce its significance in the eyes of the general media. Now, more than ever, we need to unite as a community of Jews, no matter what our birthplace may have been!

You, Shimon, as our representative in the Jewish Community must understand this like nobody else and as a strong leader should not have to hide behind either the organizing committee (as you did here) or the CEO of the Jewish Federation. I strongly believe that you should have made a personal stand and a tough decision to fold your rally into a larger one, even if it stands in the way of your personal goals and ambitions!

This is a long dicussion on a jammed day/week. I wanted to do a single
rally. Issues were primarily transportation and security. Would be glad to
discuss further.

Great to know that there are people like you, Sam, Zhanna and Pnina that see it the same way I do! BTW, all the differences aside, I am happy to know that both rallies were well attended.

I just care, I am a Jew and this is my reason.

O common! Call it Jewish rally, not a Russian one. What Russia has to do with your jewish problems?
