IMHO poka Medvedeva s Putiniym & K rugaut na zapade, oni vse delaut pravil'no. Drugoe delo, chto podnyatie rossiyskoi ekonomiki - eto na dannii moment ne tak elementarno, kak prosto dostat' i dat' limon $$ komu-to ili na chto-to.. ...von 130nm liniu AMD Angstrem(?) kupil, i chto?

...mozhet u Abramovicha na odnu yahtu men'she budet.

If Putin follows through with his dictatorial aspirations he's not going to be so welcome in Western capitals. What's the point of having billions of $ if you can't go to London or NYC to spend it.

LOL. Putin and Medvedev are not criticized for what you think or would like to think they are being criticized. In the time of crisis nationalization of natural resources is probably the right thing to do. I may not understand how "sophisticated" Russian economy is, but it appears to me that they've established
OLIGARCHIC CAPITALISM, autocratic kleptocracy ( or even mobocracy) to enrich themselves and their cronies. Yeltsin's oligarchy was simply replaced with Putin's.

Russia pretty much operates like a third world sh*thole whose wealth is wholly dependent on natural resources and controlled by few. Think of Saudi Arabia:grin:

Russians that live in Russia love Putin. They forgive him for anything that he does wrong. Because there is no alternative. If a change in leadership would come, it would be for worse. At least Putin is a smart dude. :(

Putin is undobtedly smart. I'll give him that. It doesn't give me any pleasure to acknowledge the fact that he appears a whole lot smarter than the guy we have here for a president:grin:

I don't know how much Bush's family made after the invasion of Iraq. But I know that a lot of his cronies made fortunes by getting no-bid contracts there. I just hope that this crap will be investigated some day.

Look, what we have here is far from perfect but the system is generally fair and we have something they don't have in Russia: accountability of power.

Speaking of Russian economy....History has proven once and again: no real economic development is possible under totalitarian( authoritarian) regime. Where there's no viable opposition, there's no accountability of power which naturally leads to corruption. And for as long as there's corruption no true free market competition is possible.

Until recently there were 3 underdeveloped countries in Europe( until European family was joined by former USSR republics): Spain, Portugal and Greece.
What did these 3 have in common? That's right. They were ruled by military juntas.

Хорошо быть Избранным,
Воровать помногу.
Плохо быть непризнанным
Из Совка холопом.

Sorry, I missed something here...Clinton was actually impeached for "having lied under oath" about a BJ. LMAO. But he was not removed from office. Pridurok, what can I say...

But isn't it amazing that he was investigated for a BJ, while Bush starts illegal war based on false( and probably fabricated) evidence, f*cks it up, thousands of lives, hundreds of billions of dollars, American blood and treasure being wasted...

Guantanamo Bay prison, torture, incompetence during Katrina, it's a long list...

And nothing happens...

As I said, I just hope all this crap will be investigated one day...

I agree with you. This crap is bad.
But I think the court on US corrupt government would happen only if US will become very weak and the country collapse. Do you really want that? for the sake of Guantanamo prisoners?

LMAO. Nah...Yanka, I think there's a very realistic chance GITMO prisoners will have their day in court under new Obama administration. Bush is still in The White House and they are already talking about closing GITMO.

We are not going to keep people in prison forever without charge. Otherwice what kind of a sh*tty democracy are we? If we do that US is not in the position to lecture anyone on democracy or human rights.
