Never mind, that she doesn't usually read baraban and wouldn't understand Russian in any case - all the sparkling wine makes me fuzzy and mellow... PLEASE WELCOME MY ANGLO FRIENDS TO BARABAN!

CONGRATULATIONS Panda and Biscuit!!!!!
Doctor Kri Kri - after observing your odd, not to say extraordinary behaviour - says you'll do just fine!!!!
LOTS OF LOVE, HAPPINESS, JOY!

Why I love my friend and her fiance:

1) We do lots of different stuff together: I go to movies and to restaurants with her and her fiance, while she and I (and other friends of ours) can head to a bar or a club for a girls' night out and drink and dance when we feel like it. I sometimes pass, because I don't really like clubs that much, I need to be in the mood, to be perfectly honest:)
2) She is my role model when it comes to establishing my career after many years of slaving in grad school, and she has given me lots of thoughtful advice and practical help.
3) She throws amazing dinner parties and she always invites me over - it's fun to mix with singles, with couples, with married people with kids. I've been able to meet new people in a new city, and make friends with them - I clicked with one couple in particular, and now we go to theater plays together - the three of us.
4) She checks in on how I am doing, listens to me when I want to talk, and shares with me when she needs to talk as well.
5) Her fiance's parents adopted me as well! They are lots of fun to talk to - while my friend's parents just sent me a nice birthday gift from Montreal!
6) I help: I feel useful when I am helping them to move to their new house or clean up after parties (although my friend knows that I hate cleaning, and never takes full advantage of my willingness to help)
7) I can always sleep over at their new house - first in a guest bedroom, and once they have kids - in a nicely decorated room in the basement. They are also preparing another room in the basement for another friend of theirs. Oh yes, once they have kids, her husband may need to take some time off work to take care of them, because, as it often happens in our profession, she won't be able to abandon her practice.
8) We are planning to go on an adventure tour together, and we have other friends that plan to come along.
9) I go to a doctor with my friend when she is sick and her fiance can't be around; he picks me up from the airport when she is busy. We are there for each other.
10) Most importantly: my friend is a warm and generous person, and it makes me happy to see her happy.
And I love opportunities to shop for indecent dresses (another good friend of mine is getting married next year!)
Off to work now:)
