and than appeared discussion about places, different from rus.cuisine.....
So, basicly, WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE PLACES??
also please could you write approx.prices there (BARGAINS WELCOME!!!!!) (but midlle level is also okay).
1.the name of the place and where is it situated
2.prices there
3. your favourite dish there

I love Dishdash in Sunnyvale - mediterranean style food. You can find their prices and menu on their website (use name and .net extension).

Fondue in Saratoga has deserts to die for.

Blue Mango in SJ - one of the best Thai food places.

Ethiopian food in Berkely - Click here (http://www.themenupage.com/addisethiopianrestaurant/index.html) yummmy! Favorite dish is the sampler, because you get to try a little bit of everything!

Pacific Cafe - great fresh sea food...located in a sleepy neighborhood but can have a line out of the door! They give you a glass of free wine....so if you have to wait, at least you can entertain yourself:)

Espetus - Brazilian/Steak - it's unique because they have a salad bar for everything (including pasta, etc), but as far as the meat goes...it goes comes around every few minutes. Waiters with "shampuri" or plates walk around and offer you 12 different things. If you stay there for about an hour, you get to try everything and then the next round start all over:)

the price is....well...I don't remember the price but it wasn't too bad:)))

All the food is good, but Наполеон and сырники are simply unbelievable.

3) L' Olivier.

San Francisco

Food is impeccable, but go for the atmosphere and company:) :) :) I only had appetizers and wine there, both were excellent.


4) Khan Toke Thai House, 5937 Geary, San Francisco

A great Thai place. They had some sort of pancakes that I never tired before... lovely fish in coconut sauce.


I don't recall the price range for any of these unfortunately.

No, I didn't - but when/if I visit next time, I'll definitely do it. Maybe you'll have more free time and go to SF with me - I have a long list of places I haven't visited (not just restaurants) :).
I can recommend a place in LA though - Dee took me to Трактир, and their chicken crepes are second to none:)

We have "Трактир" in SF. Personally, I like it, but it's just a place to eat, not a typical russian restaurant. I love "Katia's tea room" also.
